Simple Sack With Red

Monday, my old foe. This calls for an easy outfit. A dress!
This was almost like wearing pajamas - I felt like I was cheating!

  • Dress - Boo Radley, thrifted; purchased here for $26.95
  • Boots - Adrian Agnes, Fluevog; last seen here in February with abstract turquoise
  • Coat (below) - Danier Leather

I belted the dress so that I'd have somewhere to hang my office keys/swipecard, but it works without a belt just as well. I love a dress I don't have to think about. It's not as sack-like as some of my sack dresses have been over my lifetime, but I could definitely stow some bags of marshmallows in the skirt.
The bottom of it is two-tone navy and black, a bit hard to see (you can get the idea in the top picture). I like the low-slung pockets.

The outerwear. Did not need anything but the coat.
Win! All in red too. How did I ever live before I owned a red leather coat?

The stuff:
One of my many pairs of red boots.

Red bling:
All the red!

  • Belt - Plum
  • Leather cuff - vintage fair
  • Metal cuff - thrifted
  • Silver ring - gift from Cindy
  • Earrings - Tania Gleave

I did my nails in bed at 11pm last night. This week's colour is "Big Night Out", another Rimmel 60 second polish.
It's an orange-y red with an orange-y iridescent shimmer. I like it!

    1. Thank you! I'll have to wear it without the belt so that you can see it all. I love the colour of this polish.

  4. Is it true about the 60 seconds? Or is it big marketing ploy? I like that colour. And I like your other reds. At first I thought your dress was a top and a skirt with that belt in there. Cool piece. There's sun here today. I'll have to stay indoors with the shock of it. Heh.

    1. It is true, although if you put more than one coat on, it takes that much longer to get fully dry. They are great for doing one's toenails!

There are clouds here, but a little peek of sun.

  5. Red looks great on you. The boots and coat combo are brilliant and those nails too - fab. I wish I could do red, but it makes me think of Christmas. I just want to shout HO HO HO whenever I try on red anything in a charity shop.

  6. That's a Shelley dress for sure! Simple shapes, and still really cool (the red boots an an element of bad-assery to it). I wish I could wear nail polish on my hands, but no matter how careful I am, or what polish I use, within 24 hours, it's all chipped and looks like crap :(

    1. Yes, it does remind me very much of your style. I'm very hard on my nails - the polish doesn't last long on me either.
