Pinks, and Daring to Bare

We made it! Happy long weekend! Unfortunately, my weekend does not include Monday as Easter Monday is shockingly NOT a stat holiday here. Boo.
But a whole 3-day weekend!? Yes, please! I have a very busy one ahead. Let's launch it with a bang - the first bare legs of spring!

  • Jacket - Tommy Hilfiger, thrifted; last seen here in July 2016 with silver shoes
  • Blue tank, thrifted; I don't track it
  • Crocheted tank - Fairweather, thrifted; I don't track it
  • Skirt - Astr, thrifted; first worn here in March with witchy shoes
  • Shoes - Wonders; purchased here for $100
  • Coat (below) - Samuel Dong, thrifted

Yes, I have bare legs! It felt very naked. I wore an extra half-slip under this skirt (which is also lined) for warmth. I couldn't do nylons with open-toed shoes!

I adore this pink plaid jacket. I call it my "Herb Tarlek" jacket after the character on the old TV show, WKRP in Cincinnati. He was known for loud blazers.
I had quite an issue with my tops, as in "what to wear under this jacket??" - I felt very clever for layering these two matching blue camis.

Outerwear. Didn't need the furry thrifted boa or the Parkhurst wool gloves by the end of the day.
And I felt very spring-y!

The stuff:
First wearing of these Wonders shoes, and yes, they do live up to their name! I did a 60-second pedi last night while watching TV (and shaved my legs this morning), so that I could properly do them justice. I love that they take the basic "grandma sandal" (you know the kind I mean!) and make them funky. Metallic pink and white lug soles sure help!

Blue bling:
Shoot, I forgot to photograph the earrings! And it was my first wearing of them too. Ah well, I will wear them again!

  • Necklace - vintage fair
  • Bracelet - Coro, vintage fair
  • Earrings - not shown, vintage fair
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
Okay, wishing you all a very happy, fun-filled weekend! I'll be back on Sunday with my wrap-up.

  1. The blue tanks are perfect with that blazer! :) Yey for spring and bare legs too! IT's starting to cool down a little here, especially in the mornings and evenings, so I'm wondering when I'll have to look out my tights! I don't mind if autumn takes a little longer to arrive, I have NO idea where they are!

    1. Thanks, Mica! Ha, yes, funny how that seasonal stuff just goes missing!

  2. Wow! This works so well - you look fabulous! Love the skirt especially. You're inspiring me to go clear out my winter things and find those lighter colors in my closet. If only the weather (and my time commitments) would cooperate...

  3. Love how this outfit looks from the back. The flare and length of the jacket coordinate perfectly with the gathers of the skirt. So pretty. And I love the blue necklace and bracelet -- gorgeous!

  5. Yikes, is it really time for bare legs already? Mine are still a pale blue/grey colour.

I love these pink sandals and think they might be the perfect ploy to distract the eye away from newly revealed flesh. Will keep this in mind for next week when I do my changeover and find some seasonal togs.

    1. Kinda, sorta? I'm back to nylons, so it didn't last long! Good luck with your own changeover!

  6. You look so ready for Spring! We have had some warm-ish weather here, but it's been quite windy, with intermittent rain. I had one day where I wore a dress with bare legs and proceeded to get caught in an unexpected thunderstorm.

We did not have Monday off work here either, so I was back at it today. Three days off in a row were very nice though. I laughed at the Herb Tarlek reference - I watched WKRP quite regularly.

    1. Thanks, Shelley! It's really been rather variable here - maybe I'm just wishfully thinking it's warmer than it is!

Yes, I'm happy with my 3 days off, not complaining! Ha, I loved that show!

  7. I was off since Thursday.... it was a real deal getting back to work on Monday.
You put this together masterfully Sheila, the silhouette and of course the not-so-granny sandals were the perfect addition.
