Lavender, Lace, Houndstooth and...Orange!

I know, right? Orange shoes with this outfit?
Hint: the necklace has orange in it. And of course you can wear lavender and orange together! I've done it before (here)!

  • Jacket - H&M, thrifted; last worn here in September 2016 with sheer dots
  • Lace shirt - Abercrombie & Fitch, thrifted; last seen here (3rd outfit) just a week or so ago for weekend shopping
  • Skirt - Bianca Nygard, consignment; last worn here in October 2016 with a once-worn sweater
  • Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog; last seen here (2nd outfit) in February in the snow and rain for the VFF Gala event
  • Coat (below) - Lord & Taylor, thrifted

This is basically a variation on a theme, swapping the black culottes for a black-and-white houndstooth skirt. I had created this ensemble for theatre with Mom on the weekend, but ended up going with a dress instead - this outfit felt too "worky" for me for going out.

I have mixed feelings about this lavender blazer, though. I'm not a fan of the one-button stance, being gifted in the boobular region.
However, I'm a fan of this skirt, which I kept out for spring/summer, as it's such a nice pattern. It will be too hot for summer, but good for these slightly chilly days.

Outerwear. Still required, as the day called for rain, but it ended up lovely and sunny.
Spring is so changeable here, but it's so fresh and bright this evening. Love!

The stuff:
I adore these shoes so much I have them in three colours - and you know I so rarely do that!

Purple and orange bling:
See, orange! It totally all goes together.

  • Necklace - thrifted
  • Earrings - local

  1. Lavendar and orange are a dream, Sheila! You look corporate smart today and it's sharp. The one button doesn't look like it's an issue, but maybe it feels so. This is a full marks look for me.

    1. Thank you! It felt less comfortable as the day went on, but I'm up a couple of pounds right now, so that makes a difference, I find.

  2. I agree - orange and lilac are a great combination! Actually, I was just thinking how flattering that style of jacket is on you. And you can never go wrong with orange shoes! xx

    1. Thank you, Curtise! I have another similar jacket (in green) that I like more, so not sure if this one will make the cut. Orange shoes, on the other hand - always a win.

  3. Those orange shoes are so smart! I like the jacket--especially the peplum ruffles!--but it looks a bit difficult to wear: an unusual shade, along with the high-stance collar and the single button closure. I think you rose to the challenge.

    1. Aren't they fab? Orange! The jacket is a tricky piece - it really doesn't go with very many colours, and it's quite limiting. Thank you!

  4. wouuu, I love this orange & lavender color combo, it looks stunning!, and I love that your beautiful necklace contains both colors, so lovely matching bijouterie!, you look gorgeous and elegant, with an orange touch of fun (those shoes are fabulous!)

    1. Thank you! I love using one piece to inspire all the others - that's how the magic happens for me.

  5. I heart your necklace - such fabulous colours.

I like the blazer especially and think it looks great on you - boobs or not. I thought I had mastered (mistressed?) the boob thing but some things still look better than others on me in that department. I would have thought the single button deep V style was good for us 'boobies' and it certainly looks stylish and flattering on you!

Genius idea with the orange shoes for contrast.

    1. Thank you! I love it too - not bad for under $10. I prefer multiple buttons on a blazer for the "lock & load" properties on us "boobies" (hee), but thanks, my dear!

  6. Agree this is a work look.
I would have never thought these shades would look so good together and have you tried the blazer unbuttoned ?

    1. Yeah, it would have been wrong for the theatre. I wore the blazer unbuttoned last time, but this time 'round, I didn't wear enough coverage under the lace top, so I had to keep it buttoned.
