The Key is Orange, Plus Cat in a Hidey-Hole

According to my InStyle colour guide, this is "flame". It goes with olive, cornflower, pale pink and aqua.
I call it "orange". And it goes with everything!

  • Blouse - Antonella, vintage early 80s, thrifted; purchased here for $3.00
  • Trousers - Talbots, thrifted; last seen here in April with grey and pink suede
  • Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog; last worn here in July with the Forgotten Mosaic Dress

I was vibrant today! My shoes and blouse matched exactly and I thoroughly enjoyed swooshing my sleeves about. Sleeves are at Swoosh Factor 8, Cap'n!
It's been too hot to wear fully-lined wool blend pants, even though these are quite light. I think I will keep these out in the fall/winter wardrobe. I love the key print, and the grey/purple shades in them.

The stuff:
This is probably - maybe?? - the last wearing of these beauties before I pack them away for 6 months. I'm not sure. Orange is such a handy colour!

Glittery bling:
I pinned the brooch through the knot of the tie on the blouse - it dragged it down a bit, but otherwise I liked that.

  • Brooch - The Bay, around 2002?
  • Ring - Soul Flower
  • Earrings - local

I was running late this morning. Vizzini was too darned cute!
"Gads, I thought you'd left!"
So adorable! I couldn't leave without taking a picture or two!
"This sounds like a personal problem."
Yeah, being late to work because you were taking pictures of your cat is not really an excuse. I took the bus - and I wasn't late!

  1. I really like the orange with the grey/purple pants! :)

I think you were orange really well - in fact I only started wearing purple and orange and aqua and orange together after seeing you do so so stylishly on your blog! I think you inspire a lot of my colour pairings sometimes! :)

  2. Awww, sweet kitty. Spike loves to lay on me or trip me when I'm trying to leave for work. When I get back home, he's right back to fussing at me for leaving.

    Love those printed pants.

  3. Hahaha, I love what Vizzini has to say. Orange, yes, I love that colour and your thought that it goes with everything. Swoosh factor sleeves, best style offence (in the good meaning) there is. I kept thinking today was Sunday - people seemed to be in a good mood everywhere I looked.

  4. Orange is gorgeous on you - and if it's swooshy, it's all the better. Oh hey, V, I love the white eyebrow. xox

  5. Yes, I call it orange too (flame indeed...) and I love it! What a great blouse.
Surely those shoes can have a few more outings this autumn? xxx
