Taking the Trouts for a Walk

Ooh, that was a long day! It was my company's annual global walk, where all the offices worldwide go out on a 30-minute stroll to remind people to get up from their desks and move, and meet their coworkers, blah blah blah, corporatespeak.
I'm the main organizer - I had 3 other people helping me plan the route and carry out our carefully-timed event this year. It went off without a hitch (no rain!) and everyone really enjoyed it. However, that's a lot of work. I stayed late tonight to get caught up on everything that I couldn't get done.

  • Blouse - Esprit, thrifted; last seen here in August with bark
  • Dress - Land's End, consignment; last worn here in August with Etro for Ulty
  • Shoes - Miista; last seen here in August with much fluff and tassels

My company's colour is red, and since I don't have a red dress right now (heh, time to shopping!), this deep orange one worked fine. I layered the blouse under it for a bit more warmth and coverage - I was also reminded of the blouse because I saw this same fabric in a skirt yesterday!
After being so high and mighty about going bare-legged yesterday, here I am in plum-coloured tights. It's not quite tight weather, but it was nice to have my legs covered.

The stuff:
Everyone is just hypnotized over these shoes - me too! I love my trout shoes!

Plain bling:
I've been drawn to simple earrings and jewelry with clean lines lately.

  • Leather obi - thrifted
  • Round ring - Nine West
  • Stacking rings - thrifted
  • Earrings - local

And now...dinner and couch-time!

  1. You sure work hard! It seems like you are always organizing some special event as well as your regular duties.

I like the tomato color of that dress. It looks red enough to me!

  3. The best title! I imagine little fishes on the end of leashes.
I can only imagine how much work was required and how oblivous others often are when something like this event runs seamlessly. Congratulations on a job well planned and executed.

  4. I like the printed blouse under the sleeveless dress! I've never been too fond of that when I've tried it. Last time I tried it the shirt underneath was really slippy and moved around a lot, it wasn't very comfortable. I'm guessing the obi belt helped to keep it in place? I like the look but it doesn't seem to work for me :(

  5. Love those shoes and covet them. You are truly the Boss Lady, as Suzanne crowned you. What can't you do? xox

  6. We are all put on the Earth for a purpose -- and yours is to tell people what to do, get them lined up, and shepherd them into place for an orderly event. Saying you're an organizer is like saying Serena Williams is an athlete: it's who you are!

  7. Like Melanie, I pictured little fish marching along on their fins! Love this outfit on you, especially with the Trout Shoes.
